Overview
Sugarlands Visitor Center, near Gatlinburg, Tennessee, is the main gateway on the Tennessee side of Great Smoky Mountains National Park — the most visited national park in the United States. It offers natural-history exhibits on the Smokies' extraordinary biodiversity, a park film, ranger programs, and trip-planning for the park's hundreds of miles of trails and scenic drives.
Set amid the lush, mist-shrouded forests that give the Smokies their name, Sugarlands is the orientation point for exploring the park's waterfalls, wildflowers, historic Appalachian homesteads, and abundant wildlife, including its famous black bears and synchronous fireflies.
