Overview
Mohawk River/Barge Canal is a public water in from the Great Lakes to the Adirondacks, open to boating, fishing and paddling. Anglers here target smallmouth and largemouth bass, walleye, northern pike, muskellunge, trout and panfish. The Great Lakes, Finger Lakes and rivers hold trout, salmon and steelhead.
Recreation
As moving water, it fishes by current — target seams, eddies, holes, bends and woody cover rather than open flats.
